Bringing unseen content to rabid fans

 

THE CHALLENGE

Engage 1500 fans in a massive and immersive interactive environment where impressions are garnered through premium distribution, social media hashtags, The RickMobile, and a 60 ft. wide LED wall screening 90 minutes of unaired content. 12 venues, including Comic Con San Diego, comprised a nationwide tour over 6 weeks. Our task: to provide technical direction, on site production management and logistical support to Adult Swim and Motive Agency.

THE solution

Working closely with Adult Swim's internal creative department and Motive Agency a footprint was conceived that bridged the client's specific aesthetic, including co-branding of the tour's corporate sponsor Geico, into a seamless immersive environment for fans to cultivate a meaningful and lasting impression of 'On The Green.' Daily interfacing with touring and local vendors, venues and crews ensured all technical challenges were consistently met on the 2+ acre footprint brought to life by remote generator power, a massive mobile LED wall with concert quality audio, crowd control and security for 1500+ fans, and parking on site. Daily reports were generated to reflect the day's successes and ROI for the client.

THE RESULT

12 successful full scale activations from Arizona to New York City were rolled out bringing the Adult Swim and Geico brands to more than 18,000 fans on site, 250,000 fans via live streaming, and 300,000 impressions on social media. 10,272 premiums were distributed, 4,404 Geico surveys were conducted, and over 17,300 boxes of free candy were given out. The main attraction, unaired Adult Swim content, was flawlessly delivered to fans including 3 days of live streamed programming at San Diego Comic Con.

Creating original content with two entertainment giants 

 

THE CHALLENGE

When two heavyweights like Spotify and All Def Digital (ADD) set out to create original content the opportunity for something truly meaningful and innovative to come to fruition is palpable. Fairground was there to help bring it to life. The production challenges of producing a full season of musical reality television began with technical direction; set and stage design, lighting schematics and mapping, audio engineering, and staffing. Throughout production artist rider demands as well as continuity concerns made for an ever changing and fulfilling challenge on set. Fairground was also tasked with audio multi-track recording services and post production sound design.

THE SOLUTION

Music is in our DNA at Fairground so a live stage performance coupled with reality TV was right in our wheelhouse. From T-Pain to D.R.A.M. some of hip hop's greatest talents were given a full range of professional audio, lighting and staging gear to do what they do best. Our crew worked in unison with the creative team from Spotify and ADD as well as the director and camera department to deliver one of Spotify's most popular original shows to date.

THE RESULT

Harnessing ADD's concept and Spotify's millions of subscribers, 'Traffic Jams' has set a new precedent in the streaming reality programming space. With over 200,000 social media impressions, 500,000 views on Spotify, and on track for season two in 2018 this innovative show is just beginning to help add further weight to these brands' innovative reputations to fans and industry alike.

Solidifying Activision and MLG as leaders in gaming and Esports

 

THE CHALLENGE

Within the gaming and Esports arenas Activision and Major League Gaming (MLG) are universally known as industry leaders. At the Playstation Experience (PSX) we were tasked with technical direction and production management for Activision, MLG and OBE Agency in a tradeshow and livestream Esports environment. Fairground ensured networking, lighting, audio, staging and technical staffing were seamlessly interfaced with Activision and OBE creative teams as well as Major League Gaming staff. An on-site 'Call of Duty' gaming tournament was livestreamed and presented live to visitors in the booth.

THE SOLUTION

Utilizing years of networking and livestream experience Fairground provided a full range of oversight to every technical and aesthetic element of the Activision PSX footprint. Working closely with convention services and MLG to ensure ample networking bandwidth and power were available, OBE agency with creative vision and Activision with brand aesthetic, an Esports gaming tournament was brought to thousands of fans online and live at PSX.

THE RESULT

With a prize purse of $40,000 USD over 100,000 fans tuned into the 'Call of Duty' tournament livestream via MLG and Twitch and over 20,000 social media impressions were generated. 15,000+ attendees visited the Activision booth over 3 days of PSX.

Bringing the good gummy to the people

 

THE CHALLENGE

As a relative newcomer to a crowded vitamin market place Smartypants Vitamins has quickly risen in popularity amongst health conscious consumers. To further reach increased retail markets the #RUNSMARTY Tour campaign was launched. A nationwide tour over 7 weeks was proposed with activations including marathon expos as well as retail sampling stops. Sampling and branded premiums were requested to further the reach into burgeoning retail markets.

THE SOLUTION

A 10x20 branded booth was conceived which included three distinct interactive opportunities for consumers. Sampling stations, a branded bean bag toss and a #RUNSMARTY hash tag photo booth all presented opportunities for product and premium distribution. The tour included 21 full activations 12 of which were at nationally recognized marathon expos including the Rock'n'Roll Marathon series and the Chicago Marathon, one of the most popular races in the country. Smartypants Vitamins samples could be found in all of the registered runners' gift bags.

THE RESULT

The #RUNSMARTY Tour garnered over 35,000 social media impressions as well as a 10% increase in Facebook and Instagram followers. Over 200,000 consumers were exposed to the brand via sampling at race expos and retail activations and over 95,000 sample packets were distributed.
